That title surely sounds like pure gibberish, but in past few weeks I observed bunch of interesting facts during my routine groceries.
Have you ever paid attention to where does the product you intend to pay origins from? If you answered "no", you belong to majority of customers. Country of origin has never been as important as price and quality.(excluding right-wing radicals, who might want to keep tracking foreign conspiracies even during their shopping)Apparently, country of origin comes to matter only if there are some hot TV-news attached to it.
Just to give you a swift example: About four days ago, once again fate forced me to re-supply my fridge and go to the nearby supermarket, which is always traumatizing to my wallet. As I was marching next to snack shelves, I overheard a short conversation between a couple. It seems that they were going to pick up a bag of delicacies, until one of them noticed they've been imported from Iran. Obviously it wouldn't matter anytime else, but after this muscle flexing between Israel and Iran got into news, they decided not to buy it.
That really makes me wonder, how much further can our economical decisions be influenced by tv-news.
